The updates to The Rolling Barrage website continue. It has been really a phase project overall with specific goals and milestones in each phase. The first initial phase was planning and wireframing an overall architecture of the website. There was some design elements considered at that stage but they were minimalized.
We looked very realistically at who are audience was and could be. We realized that by the nature of the past 6 years, obviously the riding community was a major part of our audience and that it was primarily military veterans and active service members. That had to change where representation would be shown of military, police, fire and medical first responder services.
There would also have to be greater transparency with respect to organizations that The Rolling Barrage PTSD Foundation / The Rolling Barrage provides funds, equipment or resources to. While those instances do get mentioned on the Facebook page for example, it gets buried eventually by other posts. A more permanent presence needed to be displayed. Which is why the Who We Help page on the website is very important. Our donations are also now communicated in one of three blogs we have.
On the topic of communication, the organization has vastly increased the dialogue between itself and its audience. With the expansion of the current website, the previous blog The Rolling Barrage Blog was revitalized and redesigned. In a relatively short period of time over 30 blog posts have been added to that blog along.
The second blog, called the Full Pull is more in relation to news pertaining to the actual ride that is conducted in August yearly.
The most recent blog is called Not Silent. This blog is more related to the mental health and wellness aspects that The Rolling Barrage PTSD Foundation / The Rolling Barrage pursue by virtue of the annual ride, “throttle therapy, ride therapy,” and the organizations that the foundation contributes funds to.
The website has also been developed to recognize Sponsors. There is a unique approach that has been taken with respect to Sponsors in that not only do we display their logo, when you click on their logo you go to a page that is theirs. Their page will contain pictures, videos, narrative and social media links. So there is added recognition of their contribution to The Rolling Barrage PTSD Foundation / The Rolling Barrage than other charities or not for profits provide to their sponsors.
The Rolling Barrage PTSD Foundation / The Rolling Barrage website continues with development processes not including the addition of content such as the Blogs. Continue to visit our website as it moves forward to provide more content and information in its continued growth and development.
